Hinc ab Ecclesiis Africanis, antequam ad communionem admitterentur, duris Paenitentiae legibus subiecti, ad confessores martyresqueque se conferte soliti, pacem petebant, i. e. relaxationem a poenis Ecclesiasticis, quae adhus illis sustinendae erant.
